An Herbal Iced Tea That Puts Lipton to Shame

I don’t know about y’all, but back in the day, Lipton Lemon Iced Tea used to hit different. That sweet citrusy flavor was nostalgic — but now that I pay attention to ingredients, it doesn’t quite hit the same.
A quick glance at the label shows cane sugar, citric acid, and “natural flavors.” And let’s be real — there’s nothing natural about that combo. I’ve seen worse, but we can definitely do better.
So I made my own upgraded version — one that’s simple, clean, and packed with real benefits. And after sipping on this for the past few weeks, I can confidently say:
This one’s a keeper.

what's in my version?
Soursop Leaves
These leaves are loaded with antioxidants and minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron. That means they support strong bones, deeper rest, and better energy levels. And the taste? Smooth and grounding — nothing bitter or overpowering.
Honeycrisp Apple Juice
Fresh-pressed for natural sweetness and hydration. Apple juice on its own is great, but Honeycrisp takes it to another level. Plus, no refined sugar — just nutrients from the fruit itself.
Fresh Lemon
Lemon adds that citrusy punch Lipton wishes it had. It’s antibacterial, antifungal, and brightens the entire blend.
How to make it
Step 1: Make Apple Lemon Juice
I used:
4 Honeycrisp apples
1 whole lemon
I juiced them using the Kuvings AUTO10, which is a beast when it comes to whole apples — no slicing needed.
If you’re interested in getting into juicing or looking to upgrade, check out my Kuvings Juicer Picks page to see which model fits your lifestyle best. Whether you’re a beginner or batch juicer, there’s something for every household.

Step 2: Brew Soursop Leaf Tea
Use 6–10 dried soursop leaves
Bring spring or distilled water to a boil
Add leaves and reduce to a simmer
Let steep for 10–15 minutes
Cool and refrigerate

Step 3: Mix It Up
Combine:
⅓ soursop leaf tea
⅔ apple lemon juice
Give it a good stir or shake. Chill it in a large pitcher, pour over ice, and you’ve got the realest lemon iced tea remix out here.
Pro Tip: If you’re making a big batch for the whole household, just double the apple lemon juice ingredients (7 apples, 1 1/2 lemons) to fill up that pitcher with ease.
Final Thoughts
This blend is refreshing, lightly sweet, citrusy, and herbaceous in all the right ways. Whether you’re winding down, cleansing, or just trying to stay hydrated without the processed stuff — this one’s got your back.
Honestly? It belongs in a 2-liter pitcher.
Tap in, family.
